TASS has a broad expertise in several domains of embedded software development, covering the complete cycle from user requirements analysis over architecture and design, to implementation, integration, testing and maintenance. We can work both in the waterfall model and in the agile model, depending on the customer preference. For implementation, languages like C and C++ are the most commonly used by our engineers; in relation to testing, they are experts in scripting languages like Perl and Python. Popular operating systems like embedded Linux (kernel, drivers) do not have any secrets for TASS experts. Domains such as audio-video processing or networking also figure prominently among our expertise areas. As to hardware, we can work on a large variety of microprocessors (based on ARM, PowerPC, x86 or other), DSP's, FPGA's, etc. TASS has also defined a number of focus areas, as a means to increase the specialization level of our engineers and to also address the specific needs of our markets. In Belgium, we focus on embedded Linux (see for instance the ARM Cortex A8 case), and mobile&wireless technologies. Together with our partners, we also organize trainings in these domains, welcoming participants from our customer base as well.
