While consultancy is often a matter of hiring individual engineers, a customer may also have a request to develop a specific solution, preferably at the supplier (TASS) offices. TASS also has the flexibility, the infrastructure and the experience to offer this type of service, both from its Leuven office and its Gent office. In this case, we make a proposal together with the customer to agree as much as possible on the requirements of the solution, and then typically develop it for a fixed price. All matters of customer intellectual property, warranties, change requests etc. are also properly covered in the agreements.
Typical projects that TASS can execute are "complete embedded hardware/software solutions", such as Personal Medical Devices, Mobile Infotainment Devices, etc. Depending on the customer needs, we can propose standard hardware solutions or develop dedicated hardware together with our hardware partners. The dedicated software is developed by TASS in-house. As to "pure" software projects, they can range from low-level solutions (porting software across platforms, developing a set of drivers, etc) all the way up to technical applications on dedicated or even more standard platforms (PDA, GSM, …). Within our focus of embedded and technical solutions, these applications typically remain within specific technical domains such as traffic management, medical image and information processing, dedicated audio/video solutions, remote access and diagnostics, etc.
